New Orleans International Sound Exchange (NOISE) is a 501(c)3 non-profit corporation dedicated to presenting concerts in New Orleans featuring visiting national and international musical artists alongside New Orleans artists.


To help foster dialog between New Orleans’ creative music community, and the broader international creative music community; To provide an opportunity for New Orleans audiences to experience world renowned artists performing in our own city; and to expose the broader international creative music community to New Orleans’ deep pool of creative talent via these interactions.


Marcello Benetti was born near Venice in 1972. He plays mainly Jazz and Blues, Funk and Klezmer musics. As a a band leader, Marcello has released 2 albums, of his own compositions. More info at his website.

Jeffrey Albert, Ph.D., is an Associate Professor in the Music Industry Studies Department at Loyola University New Orleans, the founder and chief instigator of the Open Ears Music Series (2007-2016), and writes the blog Scratch My Brain. More info at his website.

T.R. Johnson, Ph.D., has served as an associate professor of English and Director of the Writing Program at Tulane since 2004, having previously taught at the University of New Orleans and Boston University. He has served as a disc-jockey at WWOZ 90.7 FM in New Orleans since 2001, and can usually be heard on Tuesdays from 4-7 pm (Central US Time).
